Prohibited trading practices
Updated
Accounts are for disciplined, risk-managed trading. Any of the practices below can lead to a failed evaluation, a closed funded account and lost payouts.
Market manipulation and information abuse
- Self-trading or wash trading to move prices or volumes.
- Trading together with other users to move prices or create fake liquidity.
- Trading on non-public information, such as early knowledge of how a market resolves.
- Trying to influence the outcome of an event you have direct control over.
Getting around the limits
- Building oversized exposure across closely related markets to get around the share limit, for example buying YES on a candidate winning and YES on several state-level markets that add up to the same bet.
- Abusing known differences between related markets, settlement rules or resolution sources.
- Buying up most of a thin market to distort its price.
Account abuse
- Opposite or offsetting positions across several accounts, yours or anyone else's, to hedge or make sure one account passes.
- Copying trades between accounts, by hand or automatically, including group trading.
- More than one person trading the same account.
- Running several accounts from the same device or shared connection.
- Using a VPN, proxy or any tool that hides or fakes your location.
- Opening many accounts with coordinated strategies to farm passes.
Risky trading
- Martingale or doubling up after losses.
- Putting most of your allowed risk into a single market or event.
- Gambling-style bets or deliberately breaking a rule to influence the account's outcome.
- Any technique designed to game the consistency rule or payout rules.
Automated trading
Bots, scripts and any tool that places, manages or changes trades without your manual input are not allowed. We monitor for signs of automation such as inhuman reaction times, highly regular trade timing and identical repeated orders.
Trading alerts and signal services are fine, as long as you place every trade yourself. A service that executes trades for you counts as a bot.
